Semi-Metallic Brake Pads

semi-metallic-brake-pads.png

Semi-Metallic Brake Pads are good at transferring the heat generated by the friction that is created from the contact with the brake rotors. When coupled with our Drilled and Slotted Off-The-Edge Rotors they help pull heat away from the center of your braking system. Semi-Metallic pads provide good performance, and much better resistance to brake fade than Organic pads. Due to their formulation they tend to generate more black dust, and they can be louder than Ceramic pads.

They are also a more cost effective option. They are harder, more durable, and more abrasive than Ceramic, but that aggressiveness provides a better bite than Ceramic, which makes them the best choice for heavier vehicles like trucks and SUV’s, and vehicles used for towing purposes. Relatively speaking, Semi-Metallic brake pads are less expensive than the comparable Ceramic brake pads, and they remain a very popular choice.
